Background:

The new St. Louis Science Center was opening and it needed a member base fast.

The approach:

This illustrated letter package offered 4 free tickets to the new Omnimax theatre and a chance to see the museum before the general public in exchange for becoming part of its first group of members.

From the letter:

There's a place in St. Louis where you can safely experience an earthquake.  Talk with a robot.  Stick your hand in a tornado.  And see a movie on a screen that's four stories high and six stories wide in a theater that vibrates with the sounds you hear ... and was designed to make you feel as though you're right in the middle.

It's the new St. Louis Science Center opening November 2.  But if you act now, you can experience the wonder of the Center before the general public.
